Flash floods hit the Yorkshire dales after 10 days of torrential rain and flooding.
In the village of Burstwick, just east of Hull, the waters have largely subsided, although a little sign erected in one garden bears the legend “No Fishing!”, just beside the wall of sandbags. Bright yellow high-volume pumping hoses snake along the kerbs through the entire estate, as firemen continue to drain away the filthy liquid that has saturated the ground floor of every house.

Torrential rain caused flash flooding in the Skipton area on Tuesday and led to chaos on roads in the area.

The man who runs the post office wears waders…
Prince Charles himself paid a visit to flood-hit village of Catcliffe near Rotherham. Later, he surveyed the damage in South Yorkshire, visiting Toll Bar, near Doncaster.
I’m not pulling photos of that. If you want to see him prancing around in his perfect grey suit and his shiny brown shoes, click on the links. The priceless one is him with no waders climbing into a dinghy.
